Uttarakhand Post Graduate Medical & Dental Entrance Exam 2014

Admission to MD/MS/MDS/PG Diploma Courses in Medical/Dental Colleges of Uttarakhand against state seats/state Quota seats in the Academic Session 2014-2015

GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, will conduct the competitive entrance examination for selecting candidates for admission to MD/MS /MDS/PG diploma courses in various Medical and Dental colleges of Uttarakhand

The competitive examination is meant for admission to MD/MS/MDS/PG diploma courses in various Medical and Dental colleges of Uttarakhand, for its state Quota seats for the academic session 2014-15

The eligible candidates who get selected through UKPGMEE-2014 will get admission against available state/state quota seats in post graduate Medical/Dental courses by counselling on merit cum choice basis

The Entrance Examination for admission to above Post Graduate Medical/Dental courses for session 2014-15 will be held on dated 30th Jan 2014 at Pantnagar centre only

Duration of Course:

MD/MS: 3 years from the date of admission

PG Diploma: 2 years from the date of admission

Eligibility Criteria for UKPGMEE-2014

The competitive entrance examination shall be open to such candidate, who is an Indian citizen

Has passed the MBBS/BDS Examination from a Medical/Dental College, situated in Uttarakhand state and recognized by the MCI/DCI

Has completed/will be completing compulsory rotatory internship training on or before 31st Mar 2014

Registration with MCI/Uttarakhand Medical Council /DCI/Uttarakhand Dental council is utmost necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counselling and admission in allotted collegeNo request for time relaxation in compulsory rotating internship under any circumstances will be accepted

A candidate who is already admitted to any Post Graduate Medical/Dental course in any Medical/Dental college in the state of Uttarakhand will not be eligible to appear in the UKPGMEE-2014 till he/she completes his/her ongoing PG course and passes the exam

UKPGMEE-2014 Entrance Test:

The examination will be conducted on 30th Jan 2014 from 02.00 p.m. to05.00 p.m., 03 Hrs. at Pantanagar centre only

The competitive entrance examination for Post graduate Medical courses (MD/ MS/PG Diploma courses) and Post graduate Dental courses (MDS) shall be of one written paper of 300 multiple choice, single correct response questions

The language of question paper is English only

The number of questions from different subjects shall ordinarily be as

Anatomy 15; Physiology 15; Biochemistry 15; Pharmacology 20; Microbiology 20; Pathology 25; Forensic Medicine 10; Social & Preventive Medicine 25; Medicine, Dermotology, Venerology 37; Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics & Anesthesia 46; Radiodiagnosis & Radiotherapy 12 (6+6); Obstetrics & Gynaecology 20; Biophysics 05; Paediatrics 15; Opthalmology 10; Psychiatry 10

MDS/PG Diploma (Dental)

Anatomy/Dental Anatomy 25; Physiology 20; Biochemistry 12; Pharmacology 25; Microbiology 13; Pathology & Oral Pathology 25; Forensic Dentistry 05; Dental Material 15; Medicine (with Oral Medicine & Radiology) 40; Surgery (with Oral Surgery & Local Anaesthesia) 35; Conservative Dentristry & Endodontics 20; Prosthodontics 15; Orthodontics 15; Periodontics 15; Pedodontics 10; Community Dentristry 10

All the questions will be objective type with multiple (A, B, C, D) choice of which only one will be the most appropriate answer for the correct choice

Each answer with correct choice shall be awarded one mark. Zero mark shall be given to no answer/wrong answer/ more than one choice is indicated against a question

Syllabus: The syllabus for the test shall comprise of subject/knowledge areas as per the latest Graduate Medical Education Regulations/Graduate Dental Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India/Dental council Of India with prior approval of Govt of India

The weightage in each specialty is indicative and purely provisional. The university reserves its rights to alter/vary/amend the same

Answering method: Read the instruction of OMR Answer sheet carefully

Qualifying Criteria: Minimum qualifying score in each category is as follows:

a) General category: 50% score
b) SC/ST/OBC category: 40% score
c) Persons with disability: 45% score

Negative marking: There shall be no negative marking

Candidates must reach their centre at least one hour before the commencement of the exam

No candidate will be allowed in the exam centre 15 minutes after the commencement of the examination

Admit Card of UKPGMEE-2014

The admit cards will be available in the university website www.gbpuat.ac.in and will also be sent to the eligible candidates at their email address given by the applicants in the application form w.e.f. 27th Jan 2014

However, if due to any reason the candidates fails to receive the admit card, such candidates can obtained his/her duplicate admit card 02 hours before the commencement of the examination from the office of Coordinator (Test & Selection), GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Lambert square Guest house, Pant Nagar, District Udham Singh Nagar . Such candidates must bring one attested copy of the same photograph which he/she has affixed with the application form

Admit cards will not be sent by post in any case

Candidates who are applying for “physically handicapped category” are required to submit certificate issued to him/her for this purpose by the authorized medical board as mentioned under the title Reservation Policy in the information brochure

Selection Criteria: Merit list for MD/MS/Diploma Courses and MDS Course will be made separately
MD/MS/MDS/Diploma Course: Merit of the candidates obtaining equal marks shall be determined in order of preference as under

a) According to age i.e. older getting preference over younger
b) In case age being same than in order of alphabet the names will be placed in merit

The entrance exam result will be declared by the university and Merit list (combined & category wise) of eligible candidates for admission to the Post Graduate Medical/Dental Courses will also be placed in the university website www.gbpuat.ac.in

Candidates can download their score card from the university website www.gbpuat.ac.in

Examination Fee:

Rs.5500/- for General and OBC category candidates

Rs.3000/- for SC & ST category candidates

Fees shall neither be refunded nor carried forwarded if the application for UKPGMEE-2014 is rejected/candidature is found to be ineligible or candidate is unable to appear in the examination

Candidates will submit online application form alongwith the details of bank draft of Rs 5500/- (General/OBC) and Rs 3000/- (SC/ST)

They will send the hard copy of the online submitted form alongwith one most recent passport size photograph, original left hand thumb impression, the bank draft  in favour of ‘Comptroller, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar’ Payable at Pantnagar either by registered post/speed post or by hand at the designated counter of the office of the coordinator (Test & Selection), G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Lambert Square guest House, Pantnagar on or before latest by dated 24th Jan 2014 (05:00 p.m.)

Candidate should not fill in more than one form for the UKPGMEE-2014

Incomplete application form and forms without examination fee in the form of demand draft, shall be rejected

Candidate must affix latest passport size photographs in the space provided on the application form duly attested by a Gazetted officer

Essential documents for counselling: Candidates are required to bring the following valid original documents along with one set of attested copies (attested by the principal of the concerned college or gazetted officer) at the time of Counseling without which his/her candidature will not be considered
High School certificate as proof of date of birth mark sheets of all professional exams; MBBS/BDS passing out certificate or degree; compulsory rotatory internship training completion certificate; provisional/permanent registration certificate of MCI/DCI/State Medical Council/ State Dental Council; Two passport size photographs as pasted in the UKPGMEE-2014 application form; One photo ID proof same as submitted along with the application form of UKPGMEE-2014

No objection certificate” issued by the competent authority, for the PMHS Uttarakhand doctors; service duration certificate in remote and/or difficult areas of Uttarakhand state issued by the Director General, Medical, Health & family welfare, Uttarakhand is required for PMHS Uttarakhand doctors opting for the 10% MD/MS/MDS & 50% PG diploma state quota seats; in case of PMHS Uttarakhand doctors, relieving certificate from the DGHS is must for joining the concerned college

Every Candidate is advised to check his/her OBC certificate carefully and ensure that it is valid, because the OBC certificate is valid for one year duration only; the OBC certificate should be valid upto 31st May 2014 or at the time of counseling and admission in the concerned college/Institutes as per the Govt
Candidates with invalid OBC certificate will be summarily rejected during the counseling and will not be considered at any cost; sub category certificate, if applicable
